DAY
1 Fly from Johannesburg to Cape Town, or vice-versa
where you will be met by your guide and transferred directly
to your hotel for an afternoon at leisure, before starting
your exciting tour of Cape Town the following day.

DAY 2 This morning after breakfast you will be taken
on a City Tour, where you will visit the Natural History
Museum, Companies Gardens, Government Buildings and the
Castle of Good Hope. After the City Tour, you will be taken
to the Kirstenbosch estate (which had been bequeathed to the
state by Cecil John Rhodes in 1902) to a board of trustees.
The gardens cover 5.3 sq. km (2 sq. miles) of which 7% is
cultivated and 90% is covered by natural fynbos. We then
make our way to Table Mountain. Table Mountain has been a
welcome landmark for travelers for many years. At a height
of a 1087 mts (3566 feet) above sea level. You will be given
a chance to go up Table Mountain via cable car. After your
Table Mountain trip you will be returned to your hotel
(weather permitting)

DAY 3 After breakfast we make our way to Hout Bay for
a boat trip to Seal Island. Hout Bay derives its name from a
diary entry made by Jan van Riebeeck in July 1653, in which
he refers to the ”houtbaaijn”, the wooded bays in the area.
After your boat trip, we take our leave of Hout Bay and make
our way towards Cape Point, via Chapmans Peak Drive and
Noordhoek. Upon arrival
at Cape Point, you will be taken to the South Western tip of
Africa, named Cabo Tormentoso (Cape of Storms) by
Bartholomeu Dias in 1488, later to be re-named Cabo de boa
esperansa (Cape of Good Hope). Here you will have the chance
to see the first African wildlife. You will also have time
to visit the Two Oceans restaurant for lunch, after which
you take a ride up the venicular to the point lighthouse.
Upon your return journey back to Cape Town, you will be
taken to Boulders beach, where you may view the colony of
breeding Jackass Penguins.

DAY 4 This morning after breakfast, we take our leave
of Cape Town and head in the direction of
Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa, named
after Dutch Governor Simon van der Stel. Visit the avenues
of ancient oak trees planted by Simon van der Stel in 1685.
We will also visit Oom Samie se winkel dating back to 1903,
we will visit the town square and the old V.O.C Kruithuis
built in 1777. The Dorps museum will also be visited, before
moving on to Franschoek, stopping off at the wine estate of
Boschendal. In 1685, Simon van der Stel granted the land on
which the manor house stands to the French Huguenot Jean Le
Long. We will also stop at the French Huguenot Museum.

DAY 5 This morning after breakfast, we visit the
Afrikaans Language Monument, designed by architect Jan van
Wyk and unveiled by past president John Vorster in 1975.
After your visit to the Language Monument, you will be taken
to one of the wine farms in the area of Paarl. Here you may
enjoy a cellar tour explaining to you the wine making
process, before enjoying a bit of wine tasting, and return
to Picardie Guest Farm for a quiet time of relaxation.

DAY 6 After breakfast we bid Picardie farewell. We
then travel northwards over the du Toits kloof pass towards
the small town of Worcester Named after the brother of one
time Cape governor
Lord Charles Somerset. We pass through Worcester and
Robertson en-route to Swellendam. After Swellendam, we will
stop off at the Blue Crane Tea Garden for lunch. After
lunch, we travel on to Mossel Bay visiting the Post Office
Tree dating back to the year 1501. Here you will be given a
chance to post your postcards and receive a special stamp.
We then continue on our way to Wilderness, which is home for
the evening.

DAY
7 An early start from Wilderness back to George in time
for a ride on the Outeniqua Choo Choo (Optional extra R100
per person). You will be met at Knysna station. We will then
drive through Knysna en-route to the Tsitsikama national
park. Here you will be given the opportunity to take a 1km
walk to the suspension bridge over the storms river, or
enjoy a cup of tea in the lovely restaurant. Afterwards
making a short stop at the “Big Tree”, before continuing
towards Port Elizabeth

DAY
8 After breakfast we do a short city tour of Port
Elizabeth being the 5th largest city in South Africa. The
acting British Governor of the cape colony, Sir Rufane
Donkin, named Port Elizabeth in 1820. After your city tour,
we will continue towards the Addo National Park where you
will enjoy an afternoon open vehicle game drive. We arrive
back late afternoon at the Brookes Hill Hotel.

DAY 9 Today we make our way towards Cradock founded
in 1812, towards the end of the 4th frontier war. We will
make a stop at the Mountain Zebra national park, proclaimed
in 1937, where there were only 6 zebra left. By 1949 only 2
remained, there are now over 270 Mountain Zebra.

DAY 10 We take our leave of Cradock and travel
northwards past the little town of Colesburg en-route to
Bloemfontein, where a short City tour of Bloemfontein the
provincial capital of the Orange Free State will take place.

11 After breakfast we take our leave of Bloemfontein and
travel North East to the Golden Gate National Park. Here you
will be able to do some walking in the mountains if you so
desire, or spend time relaxing in the camp.

DAY 12 Travel from Golden Gate to the Drakensberg
mountains, via the Sterkfontein dam and Olifantshoek pass.
Afternoon at leisure or enjoy a stroll to the Bushman rock
paintings from the nearby Drakensberg Boys School.

DAY 13 This morning after breakfast, we bid the
Drakensberg farewell and travel South East towards Durban.
We will make a short stop at the small town of Howick to
view the Howick
Falls, before continuing through
the valley of a 1000 hills on in to Durban. A short city
tour and a stop at the Indian market, before making our way
to our hotel for the evening.

DAY 14 After breakfast we take our leave of Durban,
passing Richards Bay en-route to the greater St Lucia
Wetland Park. Here you will take a two-hour boat trip around
the lake, possibly having chance to see some of the 800
hippos and some of the 2000 crocodiles in the area.

DAY
15 After breakfast we leave Sand Forest Lodge en-route
to Duma Zulu where
you will be entertained by a Zulu show and background of the
Zulu culture.
After the show with the Zulu’s we will make our way to the
Hluhluwe Game Reserve en-route stopping at the Hluhluwe
hotel for lunch.

DAY 16 Morning at leisure, before we take our leave
and proceed over the border into Swaziland.

DAY 17 After breakfast we take our leave of Foresters
Arms and travel northwards towards Manzini and the capital
of Swaziland, Mbabane. Here you will visit the Swazi candle
factory, the open-air market in the Ezulwini valley and the
Ngwenya glass works. You will be taken on a short City tour
of Mbabane, before proceeding back into South Africa towards
the Kruger National Park.

DAY 18/19 These two days will be spent game viewing
in the Kruger National Park, doing game drives, visiting
different camps, and looking at animals, hopefully finding
the big 5. One full day will be spent on an open game
viewing vehicle, as well as one evening game drive on a
National Parks open vehicle.

DAY 20 We take our leave of the Kruger National Park
after breakfast and make our way via “Graskop” stopping of
at “Gods Window”, the Blyde River Canyon and the “Three
Rondavels” en-route to Pretoria one of the capitals of South
Africa.

DAY 21 After breakfast, you will be taken on a
Pretoria City tour visiting the Voortrekker Monument, Paul
Kruger House, Church Square, Melrose house and the Union
Buildings. Pretoria is also known as the “Jacaranda City”
dating back to the mid 19th century, with its lilac colored
streets of Jacarandas imported from Rio de Janeiro in 1888.
After a break for lunch, you will be taken on a tour of
Soweto, where you will visit Nelson Mandela’s house, the
Hector Pieterson Memorial and Museum as well as one of the
largest hospitals in the Southern Hemisphere. After the
tour, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight
home.
